Description

This is a UESUGI U-BROS Junior-2 Vacuum Tube Preamplifier, often referred to as a '0 Gain' amplifier. It is a model from Uesugi Kenkuro, designed to function without amplification, resulting in a total gain of approximately 0dB, hence the name 'ZERO DECIBEL GAIN' amplifier.

While it features no amplification, it incorporates a single 12AX7 (ECC83) vacuum tube. This tube is utilized for impedance conversion in a cathode follower configuration, contributing to the characteristic UESUGI sound.

The primary function of this unit is to act as a high-quality fader that prevents high-frequency degradation and serves as a tube harmonizer, even without gain.

This specific unit has been repaired as it was initially not powering on. It uses an AEG-made ECC83 vacuum tube.

Please note that the exterior casing has a yellowish tint that was present before purchase. Despite cleaning efforts, it could not be fully removed without risking damage to the lettering. Therefore, the overall cosmetic condition is moderate. Individuals seeking a new or excellent condition used unit may wish to consider other options.
