The "Mechanical Moon Phase," previously offered in the Classic Collection, has evolved significantly in both design and functionality in this new Contemporary Collection model. It is powered by the in-house Caliber F7M63, which retains the distinctive ORIENT STAR layout featuring the semi-skeleton display at 9 o'clock, the power reserve indicator at 12 o'clock, and the moon phase and date display at 6 o'clock. At the same time, it incorporates the latest advancements, including an extended power reserve of more than 50 hours. The movement specifications have also been refined specifically for this model compared to those used in the previous Classic Collection.

The most distinctive feature of the new "Mechanical Moon Phase" is its unique interpretation of the moon phase display. Rather than presenting the moon as viewed from Earth, it reverses the concept to depict the Earth as seen from beyond the moon. In this design, the moon phase display at the 6 o'clock position is paired with the semi-skeleton aperture at 9 o'clock, which symbolizes the Earth. The visible motion of the balance wheel through the semi-skeleton opening represents the vitality of the Earth itself. Additionally, the raised circular ring surrounding the semi-skeleton display further emphasizes the Earth's spherical form.
