Description

This is a limited edition "Marcel Duchamp / Chess Box" produced in 1991 by Galerie Ronny Van de Velde, with a total of 850 units made. The box is designed to resemble a chessboard and contains a collection of items related to Marcel Duchamp's exhibition held at the Galerie Ronny Van de Velde in Antwerp in 1991.

・Cassette tape with an interview of Duchamp

The cassette tape case is adorned with a reproduction of the iconic breast multiple "Please Touch" from the 1947 Surrealist Exhibition catalog. The cassette tape itself is unused and has not been opened or tested for functionality.

Condition Notes:

・As shown in photo 7, the breast multiple shows slight melting and some peeling from the removal of paraffin.

・As shown in photos 8, 9, and 10, the adhesive on the box has melted, causing it to adhere to the back of the catalog. The photos show the result after separation. This condition is noted as common in other editions.

・Overall, the item has been handled minimally, but due to the melting and separation issues, the condition is listed as "Used - with scratches and dirt." There are no stains or writing.

This is a unique and uncommon item.
