Description

This is a Yamaha TX-2000 FM/AM stereo tuner, a collector's item from the pinnacle of Yamaha's ratio detection tuner technology.

This unit has undergone extensive servicing to ensure high-sensitivity and high-quality reception. Maintenance includes:

・RF, IF, ratio detection, FM tuning point, distortion, pilot signal cancellation, and stereo separation adjustments.

・Replacement of electrolytic capacitors in the power supply and MPX sections.

・Replacement of all trimmer capacitors (a major repair).

・Replacement of the super capacitor for station memory (a major repair).

・Replacement of two front-end RF amplifier ICs (a minor repair).

The tuner is capable of tuning with 0.01MHz precision in FINE TUNING mode, ensuring optimal reception of distant stations. For example, it receives NHK-FM Nagoya (82.5MHz), FM Aichi (80.7MHz), and ZIP-FM (77.8MHz) from 40km away, and FM Mie Tsu (78.9MHz) and NHK-FM Toyohashi (81.8MHz) from over 60km away.

The gold plating on the terminals is in excellent condition with minimal signs of wear.

The TX-2000 is renowned for its refined sound, building upon the delicate sound of its predecessors (T-2X, T-2000(W)) with an enhanced, rich soundstage.
