Description

This is a used TEAC C-3X cassette deck, a highly regarded classic model. It has been refurbished with a focus on performance and longevity.

・The unit features both standard playback speed and a double speed playback function (9.5cm/sec).

・It is equipped with a 3-head system, allowing for independent erasure, recording, and playback heads. This enables monitoring while recording.

Maintenance Performed:

・Replacement of pinch roller, capstan belt, idler belt, and controller belt with equivalent non-genuine parts. (Note: The pinch roller was replaced with a pink one.)

・Alcohol cleaning of heads and capstan shaft.

・Head demagnetization.

・Cleaning of all jacks and application of contact enhancer.

・Exterior cleaning has been performed. Please note that scratches and significant dirt may remain.

・Numerous large-capacity capacitors on the power board have been replaced.

・Numerous capacitors in the power supply section have been replaced. (Total of 75 parts replaced.)

・Audio-grade HG capacitors have been used in the amplifier section.

Notes on Condition:

・The eject button has been replaced with a custom-made part, but its operation is unaffected.

・As this is an older unit, expect some dirt, discoloration, dullness, scratches, and scuffs.

・Rust is present on metal parts.

Functional Confirmation:

・Audio output confirmed for recording and playback on both channels (audio characteristics not measured).

・Some crackling (potentiometer noise) was noted on volume controls, but it did not cause unstable sound. Please understand this is due to the age of the unit.

・Testing was conducted using normal bias tapes only.
