Description

Up for sale is a used SONY SL-HF500 Hi-Band Beta Hi-Fi VCR, a one-owner unit purchased in the late 1980s.

Operation:

・This unit has been tested for basic operation.

・Power turns on, and the front panel display is functional (see image 2).

・Video tapes were initially ejected upon insertion but were later successfully loaded.

・Playback of a previously recorded TV program was confirmed, and the image was displayed on a television (see images 14-15).

・Rewind, fast forward, and stop functions were operated via the unit's buttons; some minor sluggishness was noted in their responsiveness.

・The cassette was ejected using the eject button, and the unit was powered off.

・Further testing beyond the above has not been conducted.

Physical Condition:

・The exterior has been lightly wiped down. Dust has been removed from the interior using a blower after removing screws on both sides of the unit (interior photos available as images 6-7).

Remote Control Condition:

・The remote control shows signs of battery leakage (see image 13).

・The contacts were cleaned with alcohol, and a battery with remaining charge was inserted for testing. However, the infrared signal was not emitted.
