The "Seiko Lord Marvel" was sold as Seiko's first luxury wristwatch. This particular piece is an early model with an S-marked engraved dial. The number of surviving pieces is far fewer than that of the Grand Seiko first model, making it an extremely valuable historical item in the history of Japanese watchmaking. It is a top-tier model developed without compromise in every aspect.

Both the exterior and the movement are intricately crafted, and its high level of completion laid the foundation for the subsequent development of Grand Seiko. This model is also known for being the first to feature a serial number engraved on the movement.
