This listing is for a Sailor Profit fountain pen featuring a beautiful Maki-e Carp design by Kosen Oshita. This is a handcrafted Maki-e barrel based on the Profit 21 model.

・Kosen Oshita's 3D "Kaga Maki-e" (by Kosen Oshita): This exquisite pen is adorned with a majestic and delicate depiction of carp and pine needles by Kosen Oshita, a renowned master of Kaga Maki-e from Kanazawa. The carp are rendered with dynamic life and a sense of three-dimensionality, gracefully swimming in the water against a black body. The eyes of the carp feature a non-gold embellishment, suspected to be shell, though the material is unconfirmed as it is not listed in the catalog (please see image 12). Unlike many 14K gold barrel Maki-e models which are printed, this is a true Maki-e with a distinctly different three-dimensional effect.

・21K Gold Medium Nib: The Sailor's proprietary 21K gold nib offers unique flexibility and optimal ink flow. Medium nibs are often the only option for limited edition or Maki-e barrels, likely due to their versatility.

・Condition: This pen has been used only for a brief test writing and has been carefully stored as part of a collection. The Maki-e is free from peeling, and the barrel shows no noticeable scratches. Subjectively, it remains in beautiful condition. The nib has been thoroughly cleaned.
