This is the first generation Nakamichi 700, a legendary high-end cassette deck renowned for its sophisticated internal mechanisms and reliable push-button controls. Unlike the 700 II, it features a more intricate design.

The Nakamichi 700 boasts impressive capabilities for its era, including 3-head recording with simultaneous monitoring, a closed-loop double capstan system, and tape calibration. It delivers performance that belies its 50-year age, solidifying its status as a true classic in cassette deck history.

Currently, this unit is in good working condition, with normal operation for recording, playback, and tape speed control. Please note that as a vintage electronic device from half a century ago, we cannot guarantee its original performance levels. The internal circuit boards use older, less secure connectors, which may be susceptible to intermittent contact issues due to vibration. We have experienced this on a few occasions during shipping. This unit would be ideal for a buyer who is comfortable with minor self-maintenance.
