Description

Quartz lock synthesizer FM tuner utilizing microprocessor technology.

The synthesizer tuning circuit generates a reference frequency using a crystal oscillator. A combination of a program divider and PLL circuit electronically tunes the front end to the desired signal.

Unlike conventional variable capacitor tuning systems, the frequency is locked accurately at 100 kHz intervals, allowing reception at the point of minimal distortion.

Equipped with a pulse tuning system that enables manual tuning with a similar feel to traditional analog tuning.

An optical pulse generator inside the rotary knob produces pulse signals that control the synthesizer and change the receiving frequency.

Memory tuning function allows presetting and recalling stations with one touch.

Up to six stations can be stored in memory.

Scanning function is included to quickly sweep through receiving frequencies.

The front end uses a fully electronic control system with a varactor device combined with a PLL circuit.

A two-stage double-tuned configuration with a tuning buffer improves RF intermodulation performance.

The detector uses a phase conversion type detector that multiplies the input signal with a signal generated by a phase shifter that changes linearly with frequency around 90 degrees.

A wideband linear phase shifter provides excellent detection characteristics.

The stereo demodulation circuit uses a PLL demodulator with a built-in circuit that removes the pilot carrier.

The meter can be switched to display input signal level, peak modulation level, and multipath condition.

Input signal level is displayed with a direct-reading dBf scale.

Modulation meter has a full scale of 200 percent.

Multipath reception can be checked by the meter indication.

Additional functions include a noise filter for weak stereo broadcasts, a stereo/mono mode switch, a muting switch to remove inter-station noise, and an output level control.
